Lodhran (VOL ) – Deputy Commissioner Syed Waseem Hassan formally inaugurated the district’s special anti-polio campaign at the THQ Level Hospital Lodhran by administering polio vaccination drops to children. The launch ceremony was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Riaz Ahmed and several other officials from the Health Department, who also participated in vaccinating children.
During the event, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the five-day anti-polio campaign, commencing on December 16 and running until December 20, aims to immunize 385,027 children under the age of five across Lodhran district. He stated that this effort reflects the district administration’s commitment to eradicating polio and safeguarding the health of the next generation.
Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hassan provided detailed statistics on the campaign’s targets. He explained that 169,046 children in Tehsil Lodhran, 104,489 children in Tehsil Dunyapur, and 111,492 children in Tehsil Kehror Pakka would receive the polio vaccine during this intensive drive.
He further noted that a robust team of 75 UC Medical Officers, 286 Area In-charges, 1,459 Mobile Teams, 68 Fixed Teams, and 26 Transit Teams would actively participate in the campaign to ensure thorough coverage. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of strict field supervision by district administrative officers to ensure the campaign’s success.
Addressing the vaccination teams, he emphasized the need to ensure accurate finger marking and door marking to verify that no child is missed. The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to parents to cooperate with the vaccination teams and make sure their children receive the polio vaccine, protecting them from the risk of lifelong disability.
The launch ceremony underscored the district administration’s resolve to make the anti-polio campaign a success and reaffirmed its dedication to providing health security to every child in Lodhran.
